336 E. 16th Street - Tucson, AZ 85701

Thank you for choosing The Storyteller's Guest House. It is our goal to make your stay with us both enjoyable and comfortable. Please contact us if you have any questions or need assistance.

Check-in time: Between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., unless prior arrangements have been made.

Check-out time: 12:00 noon.

This is a non-smoking facility.

Parking: We offer off-street parking for one vehicle. Please do not leave the rolling rod iron gate open, and if you back out of the driveway, kindly watch for pedestrians and cars. Additional parking is available along 16th Street.

Breakfast: When you check in, please let us know if you would like to enjoy a full breakfast in the main house, food preferences, and at what time before 10:30 a.m. you would like your meal served. (NOTE - If you prefer breakfast on your own in the casita, we will daily stock the refrigerator and cupboard with fresh juice, fruit, rolls/bagels or muffins, butter and/or cream cheese and jellies, hard-boiled eggs, cereal and milk.)

Housekeeping: If you wish, we will come and make the bed every afternoon. We are sensitive to our desert environment so, to conserve water, we do not change the bedding towels daily unless you request otherwise. The bedding and towels are traditionally changed about every third day. Extra blankets are in the armoire.

Heating and Cooling: The remote control for the unit is on the wall next mirror on the folding ironing board door. Please let us know if you need instruction.

Bathroom: There is a hair dryer, extra toilet paper and Kleenex in drawers under the sink. Please do not put anything in the toilet but toilet paper.

Iron and board: The iron is under the sink in the bathroom, and the fold out ironing board is on the wall to the left as you enter the bathroom. Distilled water for the iron and coffeemaker can be found under the sink in the kitchen area.

Kitchenette: We hope the conveniences in this area will meet your needs for those times when you elect not to eat out or have breakfast in the main house.

Television: Since Tucson provides so many wonderful places to visit and enjoy, we have not included a television set in the casita. If you wish to watch television, you are invited to come into the main house sitting/television room.

Telephone: We do not provide telephone service in the casita, but if you wish to make local calls or need to check the phone directory, simply make arrangements with us to use the phone in the main house.

Internet: We provide this free service to our guests, and will provide you with the access code on request.

Pets: Sorry, but we do not have accommodations for pets.

Courtyard: Please feel free to enjoy the courtyard. On occasion during the summer we have mosquitoes, we will provide you with insect repellent when needed.

Tucson Information: A collection of brochures, maps, menus and guides are provided in a vintage holder under the books on the small table across from the bed. Please return the reference materials when you are finished using them. For additional information, you will find The Tucson Visitor’s Bureau in La Placita, an easy walk from The Storyteller’s Guest House.

Please feel free to enjoy the three common rooms available for you use in the main house while you are here.

Martha McClements and Glenda Bonin

The Storyteller's Guest House is conveniently located in the Armory Park Historic Neighborhood in downtown Tucson. Just a few blocks from Tucson's Art District and the Tucson Convention Center, this guest house, often referred to as a casita, is an easy walk to performance and event venues, many fine restaurants and interesting shops and cultural attractions. Its central location affords easy access to I-10, I-19, the University of Arizona and Tucson International Airport.

Your hosts, Glenda Bonin (a storyteller) and Martha McClements (a puppeteer and videographer) are pleased to offer this well-appointed casita situated just off the courtyard of their home for visitors who value quality, comfort and the convenience of being in the downtown area. The casita has independent heating and cooling as well as a separate hot water heater for the comfort of guests. With a secure and private entrance to the courtyard, guests can relax, learn about the area and enjoy the easy-going ambience Tucson has to offer.

The Storyteller's Guest House is an efficient and compact unit, best enjoyed by a single guest or two people.

From 1-10: Due to Interstate road construction, please call to receive information on the most efficient method to get into the downtown area.

From Tucson International Airport: Take the exit from the airport (Tucson Boulevard) and drive straight north for about 2 ½ miles. Follow the bend in the road until you come to Kino Parkway. Turn right onto Kino and drive north for about 2 ½ miles to 22nd Street. Take a left at 22nd Street and drive west about 1 mile to 4th Avenue (there is a traffic light at this intersection). Take a right onto 4th Avenue and drive north six blocks to 16th Street. Take a right onto 16th Street and drive past Railroad Avenue. Look to your right for a sunny yellow stucco California Bungalow with green/terra cotta trim and a rod iron fence in front. Park in front of the property and let us know you have arrived.
